history

On May 20, 1956, Bockum-Hövel was named a town. This was incorporated on January 1, 1975 together with the city of Heessen and with the communities Pelkum , Rhynern (excluding the Hilbeck district ) and Uentrop in the independent city of Hamm. Until December 31, 1974, Bockum-Hövel belonged to the Lüdinghausen district.

The Hamm-Bockum-Hoevel station is located at the Münster-Hamm railway . Until 1985, passenger trains ran on a small scale on the Werne – Bockum-Höveler Railway .

Transportation

Bockum and Hövel are connected to the Hamm city ​​center by lines 2 (terminus Hövel / Uhlenfeld), 4 (terminus Barsener Strasse) and 9 (terminus Horster Strasse) of Stadtwerke Hamm .
