The National Collection Party ( Finnish Kansallinen Kokoomus , Kok .; Swedish Samlingspartiet , Saml. ) Is the conservative party in Finland . In the 2011 parliamentary election it was the strongest force with 20.4% of the vote, ahead of the Social Democrats , the True Finns and the Center . Since the 2015 parliamentary election , it has been the third strongest force in parliament with 18.20 percent of the vote behind the center and the Finnish party ; it has been the second strongest force since the split in the Finnish Party in 2017.

The party was founded by monarchists in 1918. Originally a party of conservative values, with the structural change in Finland, the influence of (economic) liberal ideas grew . The rallying party advocates the free market economy , the European Union and individual freedom of choice.

With Pehr Evind Svinhufvud , Juho Kusti Paasikivi and (currently) Sauli Niinistö , the rallying party has so far provided three presidents; Niinistö is its first president in more than 50 years. In addition, with Lauri Ingman , Antti Tulenheimo , Edwin Linkomies and Harri Holkeri, she has been the Prime Minister several times. From 2011 to 2014, the chairman of the gathering party, Jyrki Katainen , was Prime Minister 20 years after Holkeri, then EU economic commissioner. His successor Alexander Stubb only reached third place in 2015, after which the party became a junior partner in a government of the Center Party.

Since the European elections in 2014, the party has had three members of the European Parliament who belong to the Group of the European People's Party .

The party newspaper is Nykypäivä .
