Kristdemokraterne ( KD ), dan. for Christian Democrats , form a Christian Democratic party in Denmark .

History and program

The party was founded in 1970 under the name Kristeligt Folkeparti (KrF for short, Danish for Christian People's Party ) in protest against the legalization of abortion and pornography. Until 1994, the KrF always succeeded in overcoming the two percent hurdle and entering the Folketing . She was involved in a number of coalition governments, from 1982 to 1988 with Conservatives , Liberals and Center Democrats with Christian Christensen as Environment Minister and in 1993/1994 with Social Democrats , Social Liberals and Center with Jann Sjursen as Energy and Flemming Kofod-Svendsen as Housing Minister .

From 2002 to 2005 the party was led by Marianne Karlsmose. In 2003 the Christian People's Party renamed itself Christian Democrats ; in the following year, the electoral list name changed from Q to K. In October 2005 Bodil Kornbek was elected as the new chairman. Bjarne Hartung Kirkegaard followed her at the 2008 party conference. Kornbek then left the KD and became a member of the Social Democratic Party to run for the Folketing there.

In 2010/11, the KD were temporarily represented again in Parliament after the MP Per Ørum Jørgensen left the Conservatives and joined the KD. This meant that the KD were automatically allowed to vote in parliamentary elections in 2011 , but again, with 0.8%, won no seats. Ørum Jørgensen was promoted to party chairman, but left the party in September 2012 after he had not been nominated for re-election by a regional division.

The basic program of October 25, 2008 includes: a. The following points:
