The men's high jump at the European Athletics Championships 2012 was held on June 28 and 29, 2012 in the Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital Helsinki .
The British Robert Grabarz became European champion . He won ahead of Raivydas Stanys from Lithuania. The Frenchman Mickael Hanany won the bronze medal.

Comment on the European record:
Carlo Thränhardt's above-mentioned European record was achieved in the hall. In the meantime, according to IAAF Rule 260.2 - Note 2 - in connection with IAAF Rule 260.13, records achieved in the hall are recognized as absolute records.
The existing EM record was not set at these European championships and was not improved.

qualification
June 28, 2012
32 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification height for the direct entry into the final was 2.28 m. Nobody went to this height after it was clear that 2.26 m would definitely be enough for the final. In order to be in the final, 2.23 m had to be taken in the second attempt at the latest or in the third jump if at most one failed attempt earlier. Twelve high jumpers qualified for the final (highlighted in light green).
