August 14, 2014, 10:15 a.m.
26 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification height for the direct entry into the final was 5.65 m. However, no jumper had to tackle this mark. Thirteen athletes had jumped 5.50 meters. After two athletes had crossed 5.60 m, one of them who had only got on at 5.60 m, the qualifying competition was canceled. The jury decided that all fourteen participants still in the competition were allowed to take part in the final (highlighted in light green). So finally 5.50 m was enough for the final.
