The women's 1,500-meter run at the 1995 World Athletics Championships was held from August 6th to 9th, 1995 in Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium .
The Algerian Olympic champion in 1992 , world champion in 1991 and third in the World Cup in 1993, Hassiba Boulmerka became world champion . At the African Championships in 1988 and 1989 she was a double winner in the 800 and 1500 meters . Silver went to the British Vice European Champion from 1994 Kelly Holmes , who won bronze over 800 meters four days later. The Portuguese Carla Sacramento came in third .
