history
Dobersberg was first mentioned in a document around 1230 in the "Prima Fundatio", the tithe book of the St.Georgien Abbey (today Herzogenburg Abbey). Today's Dobersberg should not have been the Dobersberg from 1230. The local desertification research was able to prove the original Dobersberg in the area of the school and today's cemetery. The place was initially important as a river crossing and as a crossing point of two trade routes. There have been textile manufacturing companies in Dobersberg since the 18th century. From 1895 onwards, the settlement was expanded in the area that would later be the station. Between 1954 and 1957 the future pastor of Traunstein Josef Elter , known as the “sculptor pastor ”, worked as a chaplain in Gastern and Dobersberg.
