Until December 31, 2010, Leimiswil was a political municipality in the Oberaargau administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .
On January 1, 2011, Leimiswil merged with Kleindietwil to form the municipality of Madiswil .
The typical scattered settlement has no real village center; the larger hamlets of Lindenholz, Leimiswil and Linden belong to the former community, and there are many individual houses.

Leimiswil is located in Oberaargau in the Swiss plateau .
economy
The community has a strong rural character, 63% of the businesses are farms.
fusion
At the community assembly on December 12, 2009, 124 of the 164 eligible voters present voted for a merger with Madiswil and Kleindietwil . As a result, Leimiswil has been part of the new community of Madiswil since January 1, 2011.
