Lipovník , Hungarian Hárskút is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 523 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Rožňava of, part kraj Košický heard.

The village is located in the Slovak Karst , as the easternmost village of the Rožňavská kotlina basin , below the Jablonovské sedlo (also called Soroška ). Immediately south of the village, the terrain rises into the karst plateau Silická planina . The Čremošná brook flows through the western edge of the village . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 364  m nm and is eight kilometers from Rožňava .

Neighboring municipalities are Krásnohorské Podhradie in the north, Drnava in the northeast and east, Jablonov nad Turňou in the southeast, Hrušov in the south and Krásnohorská Dlhá Lúka in the west.

history

Church in place

Lipovník was first mentioned in writing as Korna Lypa in 1364 and was the property of a Cistercian abbey founded in 1141, which was dissolved in the 15th century. At the beginning of the 15th century, the Bebek family owned 30 portals in the village. From the 17th century on, Lipovník was part of the Krásna Hôrka Castle . In 1828 there were 109 houses and 876 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and fruit growers.

Until 1918/1919, the place in Gemer and Kleinhont counties belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. The municipality received the official Slovak name Lipovník in 1927. From 1938 to 1945 it was once again part of Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration .

According to the 2011 census, 511 residents lived in Lipovník, including 381 Magyars , 117 Slovaks , three Czechs and one German , one Pole and one from Rome . Seven residents did not provide any information about their ethnicity .

412 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, 27 residents to the Reformed Church, 11 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, nine residents to the Greek Catholic Church, two residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church and one resident to the Jehovah's Witnesses. 35 residents were without a denomination and the denomination was not determined for 14 residents.

Lipovník railway station

At Lipovník, 1st order road 16 runs between Zvolen and Košice , up through Jablonovské sedlo .

One and a half kilometers outside of the village is the Lipovník train station on the Košice-Barca-Rožňava railway line , but without regular passenger traffic. The closest connection is in Rožňava train station, ten kilometers away.
