Krásnohorské Podhradie , in Hungarian Krasznahorkaváralja (until 1927 in Slovak Krásna Horka-Podhradie ) is a municipality in Eastern Slovakia .
location
The place is located in the Rožňavská kotlina basin , at the foot of the Slovak Karst and Volovské vrchy , 5 km from Rožňava and 65 km from Košice .
history
The history of the place is connected with the Krásna Hôrka Castle. The place was first mentioned in 1322 as Kraznahurka and developed from a settlement below the castle.
Until 1919 it belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary in Gemer County and then to the newly formed Czechoslovakia . Due to the First Vienna Arbitration , it belonged again to Hungary from 1938-45 and has been part of today's Slovakia since 1993.

- the originally Gothic Roman Catholic Church of All Saints from the 14th century, rebuilt in 1787 in the classical style
- a late baroque chapel with the Andrássy tomb
- the Andrássy mausoleum, built 1903–1904 by the Munich architect Richard Berndl
There are many possibilities for excursions in the Slovak Karst and its caves in the area.

According to the 2001 census, there were 2359 inhabitants in the place, of which 47.2% Magyars , 28.1% Roma and 23.4% Slovaks. 67.8% stated that their denomination was Roman Catholic.
