Krásnohorská Dlhá Lúka , Hungarian Várhosszúrét (to 1927 "Dlhá Lúka"; German Long Meadow , Hungarian and 1907 Krasznahorkahosszúrét - older even Hosszúmező ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 725 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Rožňava , part of the Košický kraj .
geography
The community is located in the Slovak Karst in the Rožňavská kotlina basin , below the Silica Karst plateau to the south. There you will find a cave named Krásnohorská jaskyňa , discovered in 1964 , which can also be visited. Through built-up urban area flows Pačiansky Potok , of the river on the southern edge Čremošná flows; thus the village lies in the catchment area of the Slaná . The center of the village is at an altitude of 315 m nm and is eight and a half kilometers from Rožňava .
Neighboring municipalities are Krásnohorské Podhradie in the north, Lipovník in the east, Hrušov and Silická Jablonica in the south, Silica in the southwest and Jovice in the west.
history
Krásnohorská Dlhá Lúka was built around a farm belonging to the territory of the Krásna Hôrka Castle and was first mentioned in writing in 1338 as Huziureth . The Bebek family owned local estates until the second half of the 16th century , after which the property was transferred to the powerful Andrássy family . In 1567 the village had to pay tribute to the Turks , but in 1570 they set it on fire and kidnapped many residents. Until the 17th century most of the inhabitants were employed as shepherds, after which the lime kiln and charcoal burning became the main sources of income. In 1828 there were 103 houses and 716 inhabitants in the agricultural village.
Until 1918/1919, the place in Gemer and Kleinhont counties belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. From 1938 to 1945 he was once again part of Hungary on the basis of the First Vienna Arbitration .

According to the 2011 census, 732 people lived in Krásnohorská Dlhá Lúka, 557 of them Magyars , 137 Slovaks , three Czechs , two Ukrainians and one Rome . 32 residents gave no information on ethnicity .
577 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 43 residents to the Reformed Church, 13 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, four residents to the Greek Catholic Church, two residents each to the Old Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church and one resident to the Evangelical Methodist Church; two residents professed a different denomination. 40 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 48 residents was not determined.
