List of honorary senators of the Technical University of Dresden

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Saxon State Minister Heinrich von Beck became honorary senator of the then Technical University (TH) Dresden in 1924 and is one of the early bearers of this title.

The list of honorary senators of the Technical University of Dresden contains all persons who have received the honorary senator status from the Technical University (TU) Dresden or its predecessor, the Technical University (TH) Dresden .

Honorary senators are - in contrast to honorary doctorates  who have been awarded for academic or scientific achievements - persons who have rendered outstanding services to the university or its faculties, especially in the form of financial donations. The title has been awarded since 1923 and is the only one of its kind at the TU Dresden that has no honorary citizens or honorary members . Honorary senators are currently elected by the Senate.

The basic order in this list is alphabetical by surname, and it can also be sorted by the year of the award.

Legend

  • Year of award : indicates the year in which the honorary senatorial title was awarded; sortable by year
  • Name : gives the name of the honorary senator, alphabetically sortable
  • Note : states the title and academic degrees as well as the profession / functions of the honorary senator and his place of residence or work
