Detailed memorial texts

  1. Subject entity Müglitztalbahn, OT Glashütte
Subject entity part of the retaining wall (km 17.54–17.65): Retaining wall clad with quarry stones, which tapers towards the center. The railing was not added until 1999. The shape and material of the retaining wall is typical of the route as a whole, but its combination of pointed shape and quarry stone is unique on the route.
    Subject entirety part of the Müglitzbrücke (km 17.658): length / height / width 16.5 m / 6.0 m / - max. Incline / min. Radius 40 ‰ / 277 m. Short, simple concrete girder bridge with strong concrete abutments.
Sub-entity part railway crossing (km 18,800), possibly parcel 424/1: length / height / width 11.0 m / 4.8 m / 0 m. Short, simple concrete girder bridge to cross the elevated railway line over a street.
Total part of the retaining wall (km 18.85), possibly parcel 424/1: concrete retaining wall that tapers towards the center. The surface was not sharpened because originally a building blocked the view of the wall.
Part of the pedestrian underpass (km 19.006): Underpass starting in the archway next to the reception building with a covered staircase to the platform, ending at the pedestrian bridge over the Müglitz. The yellow-brown coloring follows the interior of the archway. Above the entrance, the words “Zum Bahnsteig” are written in brown, deep-drawn tin letters.
  2. Former Railway maintenance facility - similar to the Glashütte reception building.
Exterior: The 2.5-storey building (including the attic) with a slate hipped roof, yellow trowel plaster and corners emphasized by large stone blocks is very similar to the larger, neighboring reception building. Behind a tree-lined forecourt facing the station, a four-step staircase leads into the building. The ground floor is raised, the base area, like the building corners, form large stone blocks. Along the street is a long and narrow, single-storey extension, also with a slate hipped roof. At the rear of the building, it and a shed from the narrow-gauge era form a small courtyard. A second entrance leads into the building here.
Interior: No information is available about the interior, as the building is privately inhabited. It can therefore be assumed that the interiors have been changed significantly and that no original equipment has been preserved.
Special features / details: The windows are white with a narrow red border. In the roof there are three dormers on the long sides and one on the narrow sides. The doors of the extension are doubled with diagonally arranged, profiled boards which converge to a point in the middle. The decorative profiles are set off lightly from the dark boards. - Changes / condition: The exterior of the main building is in good condition. The narrow extension and the neighboring shed from the narrow-gauge era were demolished at the end of 2005 in order to create parking spaces at this point.
  3. Monument text: Factory building of the former calculating machine factory "Archimedes", builder was the manufacturer Reinhold Pöthig, architect from 1921 the Dresdener Leo Hoese, executive builder Bruno Kost, in July 1924 completion. The more than 40 m long, 17 m wide and 16 m high plastered building in reinforced concrete - skeleton construction consists of two main floors on a base made of hewn stone, which are summarized by flat pilaster strips in the sense of a colossal order. A sturdy cornice that divides a kind of attic storey functions as a front hip, a triangular gable (in which the company name was located) on the flat hipped roof denotes the center of the front side facing the street, the small sprouting of the vertically accentuated windows is unfortunately in by plastic replicas their effectiveness has been diminished. The colossal order of the facade and the crowning triangular gable are formal elements of contemporary neoclassicism; this large shape met the manufacturer's need for representation. In addition to its architectural and local historical significance, the building also stands for a discussion between the Saxon Homeland Security Association and the Mayor Opitz about the correct roofing of the building (slate was required, plain tiles came), dated. as early as the 1920s, public design requirements in terms of monument protection had weight. (LfD / 2012).
  4. Monument text: Copy of the Kursächsische distance column marked 1734, made of sandstone, was erected in the typical form as an obelisk inscribed with distance information on a high base, with a coat of arms as well as an "AR" monogram and post horn mark. The column was moved several times, for example in 1852, 1938 and 1998. The column was restored in 1926 and 1938. The copy was made in 1981. This was restored in 1998. It is now near the Hauptstrasse intersection. / Dresdner Str. (Müglitztalstrasse) at the house of the clock. In 1722, the Electorate of Saxony began to erect the Saxon post-mile pillars. Elector Friedrich August I wanted to build a modern traffic and transport control system in the electorate in order to promote trade and economy. He entrusted Magister Adam Friedrich Zürner (1679 - 1742) with the implementation. The system of post mile pillars comprised distance pillars, quarter milestones, half and full mile pillars. The distance columns should be set up in the cities in front of the city gates, later only on the marketplaces. Quarter milestones, half and full mile pillars were set up along the Poststrasse. They received a consecutive numbering (row number), starting from the beginning of the measurement. The all-mile columns were set up outside the cities on the post roads at a distance of 1 mile (= 9.062 km). The distance pillars were marked with the monogram "AR" for "Augustus Rex", the Electoral Saxon and Polish-Lithuanian double coat of arms and the Polish royal crown. The full mile, half mile columns and quarter milestones were all similarly labeled, none of them had a coat of arms, but the monogram "AR". The distances were given in hours (1 hour = ½ post mile = 4.531 km). This mile system was the first European traffic management system. The pillar considered here is of great importance in the history of traffic as part of the nationally significant postal system. (LfD / 2013).
  5. Monument text: The Lange main building in a picture-defining location opposite the train station, a two-storey, solid plastered building with a flat central projectile, ledge and eaves cornice, corner blocks, (newly created) ground floor plastered rustics and extensions of the mansard roof with a central clock (only the wooden balcony porch is lost ), was created in 1873, while the founder of the Glashütte watch industry was still alive, in Renaissance forms - architecturally typical for the contemporary representation of dignity and solidity. This is continued in a simplified manner in the neighboring buildings, which for the most part already belong to a period after historicism . In 1898, the main building was supplemented by a production building with segmented arched windows that bent on the northwest side, which in turn was increased in 1906. Finally, from 1919 onwards, the part in the west, which was one storey higher, was built like a head building. Together, these buildings are to be seen as the structural core of the Langesche watch factory. In addition to its architectural significance, the property, as Ferdinand Adolph Lange's (1815–1875) place of work, has local and regional significance and is anchored in the public consciousness, because its name is associated with the history of Glashütte and the development of the watch industry in Saxony. He was also the town's mayor for 18 years. In 1845 he opened a watchmaking school in the structurally weak city based on the Swiss model and with a loan from the Saxon government and soon afterwards his own factory with permanent staff, with partial work being outsourced to surrounding villages. In 1868, a fifth of those living in the area were already employed in the watch industry, which has since determined Glashütte (also during the GDR era). The name and production of Lange lasted well into the 20th century and have been cultivated again since 1990. (LfD / 2012).
  6. Glashütte station - former reception building
Urban situation: Coming from Oberschlottwitz, the route leads through the Pilztunnel and viaduct number 26, then along a slope and, on the right hand side, following the Müglitz embankment, into the city center. There the station is roughly on the site of the narrow-gauge time. The new station building was oriented towards an important intersection. In the north of the building there is a paved forecourt, which is lined with an archway on two sides: starting at the signal box and along the narrow side of the station building. This is where the underpass to the tracks begins.
Reception building: current owner Nomos AG Uhrenmanufaktur ; current use: company headquarters. Description: similar to Bahnmeisterei Glashütte.
Exterior: The 2.5-storey reception building (including the attic) with a slate hipped roof is built onto the embankment that runs along the tracks along the Müglitz in such a way that the staff could access the platform from the upper floor. However, the way for the travelers leads via an archway on the northern narrow side of the building through an underpass and covered stairs to the platform. The corners of the building are highlighted by large stone blocks. In the roof there are six dormers on the long sides and one on the narrow sides. The building resembles the nearby, smaller railway maintenance office.
Special features / details: On the main street side there is a stone city coat of arms above the stone frame of three windows and a large clock as a city symbol in the upper left corner. Around the clock there was a sgraffito with lettering and a swastika, which was painted over in 1945.
Changes / condition: The building was recently refurbished, along with the preservation of its substance, but also a lot of substance loss. The original appearance and character of the building have largely been lost. The new color scheme in shades of gray and the smooth plaster separate the building from the uniform ensemble of the other station buildings. The interior layout of the building has been changed; the original furnishings are no longer available. The part of the archway at the northern end of the building was blocked by windows. The single-storey goods floor in the south received a glass cube as an attachment. New, enlarged windows with cross bars replace the previous ones.
Signal box - Description: Type signal box with additional basement due to level jump. Exterior: The signal box connects the ground level with that of the railway embankment, creating an additional basement, which distinguishes the building from the other, two-story signal boxes along the route. The rest of the design is the same: light trowel plaster with highlighted window frames - here red frames on white plaster - a slate-covered hipped roof that protrudes over the control room with a ribbon of windows running around half of the building on the upper floor, and a number of smaller windows on the ground floor. On the street side on the two lower floors there are also several rows of windows, the upper one consisting of larger windows. The arcade ends at the signal box, which leads to the platform underpass. It stands at one end of the small forecourt that is bordered by the reception building.
Special features / details: Adapted to the design of the other station buildings, the corners of the building are also emphasized by large stone blocks at the signal box. The upper part of the upper floor is clad in slate, based on a motif that is often found in the Ore Mountains. The station name and the designation “command signal box” are attached as black tin letters on the track side above the ground floor. - Changes / condition: the exterior of the building appears to be in good condition.
Pedestrian underpass (km 18.5): Small, rectangular concrete underpass with a typical scratched face. On the street side there is a ramp and on the back a parallel staircase.
  7. a b Monument text: Friedhof Glashütte
Friedhofsgestaltung: The cemetery of local historical and garden design importance extends from the southeast to the northwest and is laid with an elaborate terracing in a slope that rises to the north-northeast. Towards Luchauer Strasse, the cemetery is bordered in the southwest by an enclosure wall. In this wall are a south-east gate and a north-west gate. The length of the cemetery extends from south-east to north-west and is laid out with an elaborate terracing in a slope that rises to the north-north-east. The two main areas of the cemetery are separated from each other by a retaining wall running from south-east to north-west with an attached railing.
The lower area is divided by two lengthways and four crossways. In the southeast of the lower area there is a lower level with a celebration hall, in the northwest there are higher and lower levels. Another level, inserted into the terrain, is located on the south-west enclosure wall (south-east of the north-west gate). In its longitudinal extension from southeast to northwest, the lower area is divided into almost square quarters by hedges. The hedges and embankments also serve to overcome small jumps in height.
The upper area in the northeast lies in the steeper slope situation and is further subdivided by lower retaining walls, followed by a steep slope area similar to a forest park, with paths crisscrossed. A viewing platform above everything is located at the northwest corner of the entire complex. The individual areas and levels are accessed through an orthogonal path system, ramp paths and stairs. The south-west-north-east main route axis located in the middle of the complex is directed to the north-east via a staircase axis to a monument square with a wooden cross. A set of stairs in this axis opens up the slope area. In the slope area, solitary trees and groups of trees are to be distinguished from emerging wild growth.
Three (of the former four) pyramid poplars stand on the viewing platform in the northwest, which is also emphasized by a group of pines on its western slope. On the lower terrace there are solitary trees (conifers) and a linden tree at the south gate. A row of linden trees stands on the north-western and south-eastern borders. Above the cemetery there is a forest path outside the fence. There is also access to the cemetery here.
    Individual features:
    1. War memorial: sandstone stele with coat of arms, wreath and inscription: "The Saxonia Schoolchildren Association their fallen heroes / 1914–1918", 1920s
    2. Memorial: central memorial square with a flight of steps over several steps, a Latin wooden cross and a stone tablet with the inscription: "Through Passion's Cross / to the Crown of Victory"
    3. Tomb for flood victims in 1927: inscribed stone wall with crown and cross, in front of it eight smaller inscribed steles of the same material
    4. Gravesite of the watchmaker teachers, "resting place of deserving men of the German watchmaking school", stele with cogwheel - laurel - relief, surrounded by other grave tablets
    5. Family grave Richard Adolf Lange (1845–1932), Art Nouveau grave wall with plaque, protagonist of the Glashütte watch industry and son of the founder
    6. Burkhardt family grave, urn between fluted columns, around 1910
    7. Family grave site Seelhammer, Adolf, Bertha, Willy, Helene S., complex with wall in strict Art Nouveau style, before 1910

    9. Family grave site Ferdinand Adolph Lange (1815–75), founder of the Glashütte watch industry, with Mrs. Charlotta Antonia, stone grave wall with central gabled tabernacle, in front of it a pedestal with urn, inscriptions
    10. Gravestone Peter Göring , shot dead at the wall, died 1962. (LfD / 2012)
  8. Glashütte cemetery
    • Cemetery design: The cemetery stretches from Luchauer Straße from southeast to northwest and is laid out with an elaborate terracing on a slope that rises to the north-northeast.
    • Enclosure: in the south-west an enclosure wall made of quarry stone masonry, in this wall a gate in the north-west and a gate in the southeast with two pillars made of quarry stone masonry.
    • Ground relief: the cemetery is divided into a lower southwest and an upper northeast area, separated from each other by a retaining wall running from southeast to northwest, a slope area with paths in the northeast above the upper area, the lower area has a lower area each in the southeast and northwest Level, at the southwest corner a higher level and in the southeast of the northwest gate a level inserted into the terrain, the individual levels are intercepted by retaining walls upwards or downwards, in the north of the facility, accessible via the paths on the slope a viewing platform.
    • Path system: predominantly orthogonal path system in the lower area with two longitudinal and four transverse paths, on the other levels in the northwest and south-east of the lower area predominantly right-angled paths, curved path network on the slope.
    • Walls and stairs: retaining wall between the lower and upper area made of quarry stone masonry with cover plates made of sandstone and attached metal railing, retaining walls and stairs on the levels of the lower area in the southeast and northwest, between the lower and upper area a staircase in the main transverse axis on which Upper area as the end point of the main transverse axis is a set of stairs with retaining walls, on the upper area longitudinal low retaining walls made of dry masonry and separating the rows of graves and smaller natural stone stairs, stairs on the slope, stepped path on the plateau. - Grave borders: uniform grave borders on the lower area of the retaining wall. - Water: taps over enclosed inlets.
    • Woods: rows of linden trees on the north-west. and southeast Border, linden tree at the south gate in the cemetery, solitary trees (conifers) on the lower terrace, groups of trees (deciduous and coniferous trees) on the slope, three (of formerly four?) Pyramid poplars on the viewing platform, group of pines on the western slope of the viewing platform, hedges (hornbeams as district boundaries on the lower terrace, hawthorn on the upper terrace, field maple on the top of the slope of the viewing platform).
    • Visual relationships: The central point of reference is the high wooden cross on the upper area, from the path above the retaining wall one overlooks the lower lying cemetery area with its different levels. From the central staircase (with a wooden cross) one overlooks the upper terrace, from the viewing platform there are views of the cemetery and the landscape to the west and south (severely impaired by wild woodland), in the slope area that now appears as a forest are solitary trees and groups of trees consciously planted (old trees) to frame certain views.
  9. Evangelical Wolfgang Church. Planned as a three-aisled, vaulted hall church (buttresses on the west wall / wall pillars on the east nave wall), but with a single nave with a high gable roof and a strongly recessed choir with a 3/8 end. (Dehio Sachsen I, 1996)
  10. Monument text: Residential house in half-open development, three-story solid construction with largely intact wall-opening ratio, the upper floor above the two floors with quarry stone masonry has thinner brick masonry and was possibly made later, the dendrochronological examination of the ground floor ceiling resulted in 1801 - i.e. the time when after the fire of Glashütte, entire streets were rebuilt. The restored, small-town perforated facade with a central entrance and two cornices that visually separate the floors, a flat saddle roof with little original roof structure, yet the proportion of the original substance is still well over 50 percent overall, significance in terms of building history and local development. (LfD / 2012).
  11. Monument text: Residential house in half-open development, three-storey solid plastered building, with strong quarry stone walls even on the 2nd floor, central entrance with an old door leaf, windows in original size, inside with basket arches, flat gable roof with an authentic roof structure, although the corresponding cadastre begins with a "plot of land 1843", but due to the language of form, it can possibly be assumed that it was built around 1800, when entire streets were rebuilt after the city fire. In addition to its importance in terms of architectural history (and, if applicable, the history of local development), the town-planning relevance of the house must also be mentioned, because it is in the immediate vicinity of the church and is the vanishing point of a street in the core of Glashütte. (LfD / 2012).
  12. Bärenhecker Mühle
The establishment of a milling, bakery and warehouse cooperative Oberes Müglitztal eGmbH Bärenhecke took place in 1898. The hydraulic structures were built in 1898/99. After the machines had been upgraded, the mill achieved an output of ten tons per day in 1925. The Bärenhecker plant is a prime example of an industrial grain or grinding mill . The impressive technology comes mainly from the first half of the 20th century (1920s and 1930s). A water turbine enables the generation of electricity. The building has the usual structure of a grain mill with a floor for the main transmission, grinding or roller mill floor, tube floor, plan sifter floor and silo or distributor floor. In the rear part of the basement there is a water turbine, generator and switch cabinet (Sachsenwerk, GDR era). On the first floor, next to the main transmission, there is the main engine, a cleaning machine from
Petkus , and a distinctive shot tunnel. Cleaning waste that is suitable for animal feed is processed in the scrap tunnel. The floor of the roller mill shows the upper part of the shot tunnel and several (probably seven) double roller mills from MIAG Dresden-Niedersedlitz (Mühlenbau und Industrie AG). The plansifter floor has several plansifters and a semolina cleaning machine (Czechoslovakia, 1982). In addition, the impressive filter cabinet for the aspiration (cleaning device or dedusting system of the mill) is located here. The transport of the ground material is ensured by elevators and chutes, part of the transport is also carried out by a fan (suction fan).
  13. Originally preserved tunnels, partly filled in, the surface facilities are not to be understood as a reconstruction, but as exemplary structures in the sense of a museum illustration of historical mining. 260/1 - Upper 1st tunnel to the mountain building Silberner Bergmann: provided with quarry stone walls over 3 m and a door locked, about 30 m driven into the mountain with neat hammer and iron work, at the end a 4 m deep shaft with a reel chamber . 218 / 10-15 - old day shafts and pingen : These old mining facilities on which Heilig Geist, Jacob and Valerius Gängen already operated in the 16th century. ... 256/1 - Alter Schurfgraben: This mining experiment is 10 m long and up to 2 m deep. The wooden shaft saddles have already been prepared, protected by a slab roof. 256 / 2-5 - Silberner Bergmann mountain building: These three tunnels and the shaft were prepared between 1991 and 1994. ... The tunnels are mining attempts that lasted from the 16th century to around 1790. The upper tunnels are about 30 m long, the lower one is 180 m long and was last operated as a Communzeche of the city of Glashütte under the name "Silver Miner". Before that it is mentioned as St. Blasius, shortly before the end of the tunnel there is a grading table "DE QL 1747". 256/6 - Bergbauversuch-Holzstollen: recreated with wooden door frames as the beginning of mining. 256/8 and 9 - old adit and associated dump: This dump is an old adit that had disappeared under the reading stones. The day shaft with a diameter of 1 m × 2.5 m was 20 to 30 m deep. ... 256/11 - Day shaft on the 4th upper dimension of Holy Spirit: This old day shaft was filled with garbage, which was removed in 1994.
  14. Monument text: The Dittershöhe station was built in September 1867 on a stone dump on the high plateau west of the village of Dittersdorf. From the property owners Gutsbes. CG Richter and FA Geissler acquired an area of 37 m² around the column by means of a purchase agreement dated September 3, 1867. The purchase price was 21 Marks with an additional 9 Marks for dismembration (property division) and court costs. The Neundorf sandstone column stands on a square base and is approx. 150 cm high. The column bears the inscriptions: "579 / Station / DITTERSHÖHE / der / Kön: Sächs: / Triangulierung / 1866." and "TP". A profiled ring marks the transition from base to shaft. The cover plate is missing. A wooden cross has recently been placed on the column.
In the period from 1862 to 1890, a land survey was carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony, in which two triangular networks were formed. On the one hand, there is the network for grade measurement in the Kingdom of Saxony (network I. class / order) with 36 points and the royal Saxon triangulation (network II. Class / order) with 122 points. This national survey was led by Prof. Christian August Nagel , according to which the triangulation columns are also referred to as "Nagelsche columns". This surveying system was one of the most modern layer networks in Germany. The surveying columns set for this purpose remained almost entirely in their original locations. They are an impressive testimony to the history of land surveying in Germany and in Saxony. The system of surveying columns of both orders is in its entirety a cultural monument of supraregional importance. (LfD / 2013).
  15. Railway station building
. Function / meaning: stop; Today's function / meaning: breakpoint, demand stop.
Location in the area: Coming from Glashütte, the railway crosses the valley and the Müglitz on the valley bridge number 37 and then leads along the mountain slope on a dam. In the direction of Bärenstein, the tracks fall back to ground level. The breakpoint is next to the Müglitztalstraße, elevated on a bed of a dam. Therefore, as at several stations, the station building had to be designed as a lightweight wooden structure.
Reception building: former function / meaning: waiting room, service rooms; Current use: waiting room in use, service rooms unused. Description: Type of one-storey reception building.
Outside: The small, single-storey reception building is a horizontally connected half-timbered building. The hipped roof is covered with slates typical of the Ore Mountains. The offices are on the right. The waiting room is set back in the middle on the left, creating a small front zone. Individual details are set off in dark brown and beige, the small lattice windows and the doors are also painted beige.

  17. Monument text: The surveying point was on the highest point of the Wilisch near Hermsdorf a. W. erected. The Royal Saxon State Fiscus owned the property. Station 61 is right next to the formerly steeply sloping quarry. The column consists of several parts, several square base modules and a cylindrical end column. A height bolt does not seem to have been attached, the cover plate on the column is no longer there. Sightings are only possible to the west without woodworking. The inscription on the pillar should have been on the southeast side of the third base stone. This seems to have been knocked off over the whole area. Instead, there are several inscriptions 1914–1918 in the base square of the observation column - an indication that the stone was being converted into a war memorial. The cylindrical top of the column is badly damaged.

  20. ^ The point K-Kuppe was built in October 1867 on the plateau of the K-Kuppe near the Kohlberg near Oberfrauendorf. From the inscription on the column, only station K-Kuppe can be seen, but the characters TP and? to see, which suggest a longer use as a survey point. Later a leveling bolt was inserted into the column. The Royal Saxon State Fiscus owned the property in the Schmiedeberg forest district. No direction measurements were taken on the pillar. The K-Kuppe station was one of the few fixed points of the Saxon main triangular network whose coordinates were only determined by measuring the outer directions. Kohlberg and K-Kuppe are densely forested today, the station is right in the middle.
In the period from 1862 to 1890, a land survey was carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony, in which two triangular networks were formed. The embankment has been newly clad with rubble stones. Until 2002 there was a passage through the mill ditch directly below the bridge.
  28. Oberschlottwitz stop
former. Function / meaning: breakpoint; Today's function / meaning: breakpoint, demand stop.
Location in the vicinity: After Niederschlottwitz, the route rises above street level for the first time. At the southern exit of the village, the breakpoint is in a singular position, elevated on a light embankment on the mountain slope. The station building there therefore had to be designed as a small, lightweight wooden structure. The dam drops steeply directly behind the building. After the breakpoint, the route crosses Müglitz and Müglitztalstrasse on bridge number 22, before passing a steep mountain gorge to continue on an elevated position to Glashütte.
Reception building: former function / meaning: reception building with waiting room and service rooms; Current use: waiting room in use, service rooms unused. Description: Type of single-storey, light reception building.
Outside: The small, single-storey reception building is a half-timbered building with dark brown glazed inverted formwork. The hipped roof is covered with plain tiles typical of the Elbe Valley. It is crowned by a clock tower in the middle.
Inside: The service rooms are on the left, the waiting room is on the right. Its equipment is simple. Opposite the entrance, a bench extends over the entire side of the room. A notice board hangs on the left wall. The fixtures and fittings, as well as the window sills, are made of wood and take on the color of the outer formwork. The walls and ceiling are painted light yellow. Gray artificial stone slabs cover the floor.
Special features / details: The clock tower is clad with a brown, vertical cover shell and covered with slate shingles. On the street side sits a clock with profiled sheet metal protection, on the track side there is a small, square opening. The windows are painted white, the doors dark brown.
Changes / condition: The entire building is in very good condition, including the original waiting room furnishings. (The original lighting is no longer available). The color of the building seems to correspond to the originals.
  29. ^ Station Niederschlottwitz
formerly. Function / meaning: train station; Today's function / meaning: breakpoint.
Urban situation: the Niederschlottwitz train station is located in the middle of the village. In contrast to the other larger station buildings on the route, the station building is not located between Müglitztalstraße and the track systems. Due to the lack of space, it was relocated behind the tracks. A separate signal box was therefore required, as otherwise the station master would not have an overview of the route. The station building stands parallel to and eaves to the tracks. Reception building - description: Type two-storey station with goods floor.
Exterior: The goods floor is directly connected to the reception building with waiting hall and service rooms on the ground floor and officials' apartment in the converted attic. The two parts are set apart in their design, depth and eaves height. The roof is covered with slate shingles throughout. In the roof of the reception area there is a dormer window with six windows on the front.
Inside: On the wall opposite the entrance there is a ticket and baggage claim area, in front of the former there is a round storage table attached to the floor. To the left of the tracks, a wooden bench stretches across the entire width of the wall. To the right is a white tiled stove. All walls are paneled with wood up to about the ceiling. All wooden furnishings are painted brown, the windows are white.
Special features / details: A sgraffito depicting a typical local peasant couple is emblazoned between the windows of the attic on the south gable . Below is the station name "Niederschlottwitz". The goods gates, doubled with diagonally arranged, profiled boards, are painted dark brown, the decorative profiles are set off in white. The roofing is already based on the Ore Mountains instead of the Elbe Valley and thus deviates from the design concept typical of the location. - Changes / condition: The building appears to be in a relatively good condition, albeit in need of renovation, the waiting room furnishings are original and also in relatively good condition. The color of the goods gates was originally brown throughout.
Signal box - Description: Type signal box.
Outside: The elongated, two-storey building with a hipped roof is entered from the narrow northern side. The control room for the railway staff is on the upper floor. Therefore, there are a number of large, flat-format windows here. On the track side, one sits in the middle, two more each round the corners except for the narrow sides. The upper floor is only closed in the middle area on the street side. There are four small, red-framed lattice windows in a row on the ground floor, otherwise the ground floor is closed and thus reverses the principle of the upper floor. The ground floor is plastered in a trowel structure in light yellow. The upper floor, on the other hand, is clad in slate and the roof is also covered in slate.
Special features / details: The ground floor, with its light trowel plaster and colored window frames, corresponds to the design typical of the Elbe Valley. The use of slate for the upper floor and roof is typical for the Ore Mountains. This means that there is another deviation from the proposed design principle of location-based design. Changes / Condition: The outside of the building appears to be in good condition.
Railway bridge: length / height / width 72.0 m / 8. m / -; Max. Incline / min. Radius 0 ‰ / 277 m, steel girder bridge on two elongated concrete pillars with strongly rounded ends and with concrete abutments. The valley side is designed as a retaining wall. Location km 12.674.
