Stumbling blocks in Luckau for the Simon couple

The Stolpersteine von Luckau includes those stumbling stones that were laid by the Cologne artist Gunter Demnig in the city of Luckau in the Dahme-Spreewald district . They are dedicated to the victims of National Socialism , all those who were harassed, deported, murdered, emigrated or driven to suicide by the Nazi regime.

Stumbling blocks

Demnig lays a separate stone for each victim, usually in front of the last place of residence they chose. The fate of the Luckau Jews was researched by the Langengrassau local history researcher Sylvia Kolley. She also suggested laying the stumbling blocks. The local Heimatverein took up the idea, initiated a fundraising campaign and commissioned the artist to create the stumbling blocks. The relocations in Luckau took place on September 10, 2008. On the occasion of the ceremony, Mayor Harry Müller stated:

"The stones remind you that the brown brood not only existed in Berlin, but also in our town."

The tables are partially sortable; the basic sorting is done alphabetically according to the family name.
