Marcel Klinge (born December 4, 1980 in Apolda ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and social scientist. He has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2017 .

Life

Klinge grew up in Villingen-Schwenningen (Baden-Württemberg).

Blade is of Protestant denomination.

Studies and professional career

In 2012, Klinge received his doctorate from the Humboldt University in Berlin on the subject of “Islam and the Integration Policy of German Federal Governments after September 11, 2001” . There he studied politics and sociology from 2002 to 2007 and completed his master's degree in social sciences.

He was a scholarship holder of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom .

Before his election to the 19th German Bundestag , Klinge was the managing director of the FDP parliamentary group in Bremen. Until 2015 he worked as press spokesman for the association Die Junge Unternehmer . Prior to that, he worked as a freelance advisor for press and media work, as a speaker in the German Bundestag and as a journalist for the Südkurier and the Black Forest Messenger .

Klinge is a member of the Committee for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Committee for Tourism. He is also deputy. Member of the sports committee. He is the spokesman for tourism policy for the FDP parliamentary group.

politics

Klinge joined the Young Liberals  (JuLis) in 1999 and the FDP in 2001. He has been a city and district councilor in his hometown of Villingen-Schwenningen since 2014.

For the 2017 federal election , Klinge ran as an FDP candidate in the Schwarzwald-Baar federal constituency and entered the 19th German Bundestag with sixth place on the FDP Baden-Württemberg state list . In the 19th German Bundestag , Klinge is a full member of the Committee on Tourism and the Committee on Economics and Energy . He is also a deputy member of the sports committee .
