Markwayne Mullin (born July 26, 1977 in Tulsa , Oklahoma ) is an American politician . He has represented the state of Oklahoma in the US House of Representatives since 2013 .

Career

Markwayne Mullin attended Stillwell High School and then studied at Missouri Valley College in Marshall until 1996 . In 2010 he graduated from the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee . He also worked in the family installation company that he took over and as a rancher. Today he owns several companies and farms in Oklahoma. He also hosts a radio talk show. Politically, he became a member of the Republican Party .

In the 2012 congressional election , Mullin was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the second congressional constituency of Oklahoma , where he succeeded the no longer running Democrat Dan Boren on January 3, 2013 . In the elections he received 57 percent of the vote. His Democratic rival Rob Wallace came up with 33 percent. After two re-elections so far in 2014 and 2016, he can continue to exercise his office today. Its new legislative term runs until January 3, 2021 with the option of a further candidacy in 2020. Oklahoma's delegation in Congress has now consisted of Republicans without exception since 2013.

In the House of Representatives he is or was a member of the Committee on Natural Resources and the Committee on Transport and Infrastructure, as well as several subcommittees.

Markwayne Mullin is married with three children; the family lives privately in Westville .
