Mikhail Nikolajewitsch Kuznetsov ( Russian Михаил Николаевич Кузнецов ; born June 4, 1952 in Moscow ) is a former Russian- Soviet rower and Olympic champion.

Career

Kuznetsov started at the 1976 Summer Olympics in a foursome with helmsman with Vladimir Jeschinow , Nikolai Ivanov , Alexander Klepikow and the helmsman Alexander Lukyanov and won the gold medal in front of the teams from the GDR and the FRG . At the rowing world championships in 1977 on the Bosbaan regatta course in Amsterdam , the five Olympic champions from the previous year won the silver medal behind the GDR boat with the Soviet eighth .

After winning the Olympic gold medal, Kuznetsov was named the Honored Master of Sports of the USSR. At the Soviet Championships Kuznetsov won the gold medal twice: in 1974 in two without a helmsman and in 1977 in eight.
