The nature reserve Huckeshohl / Lorenbecke is a 32.09 hectare nature reserve (NSG) west of Niedersfeld in the urban area of Winterberg . The area was designated as a NSG by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the Winterberg landscape plan .

The NSG consists of forest and grassland areas. In addition to the beech forest, there are also gorge forest areas in the forest . The grassland is mostly grazed with cattle . The grassland is partly poor pasture.

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated as a habitat for endangered animal and plant species for the maintenance and development of a forest and grassland area. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.
