The Neerabup National Park is only 11 km² large national park in Western Australia , Australia . Its name is derived from neerimba , the name of the spectacled pelican in the language of the Aborigines .

location

The park is located approximately 17 miles north of Perth and runs 12 miles along Lancelin Road . The Yanchep National Park is about 5 km away in the north .

Flora and fauna

The landscape in the Neerabup National Park ranges from light forests of Marri ( Corymbia calophylla ), Jarrah ( Eucalyptus marginata ) and Tuart trees ( Eucalyptus gomphocephala ), interspersed with a casuarina species , through scrubland mainly consisting of Banksia and Hakea species to the heathland from dryandra species .

A variety of animals can be observed in the varied flora, including the western gray kangaroo , the emu ( Dromaius novaehollandiae ), the Echidna , the western Irmawallaby and a species of cusus .
