history
In the park are the remains of the historic narrow-gauge railways Kalgoorlie woodlines , on which wood was transported both for mine construction and as fuel for industry. These were built after the Gold Rush in Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie-Boulder in 1892 and were in operation until the 1960s. The wood was also used as fuel for the operation of pumping stations that carried water in a pipeline from Mundaring to the gold rush towns. Various relics of this can also be found in the park.
