Neumühle is a district of the town of Vohenstrauß in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district .

Geographical location

The hamlet of Neumühle is located about 900 m west of the state road 2166 and 2 km west of Vohenstrauss.

Neumühle is located on the west bank of the Leraubach . The Elm , an extensive forest area, extends west of Neumühle .

history

In the 18th century Neumühle belonged to the municipality of Waldau, Vohenstrauß district, with 3 properties and a mill. Neumühle belonged to the Vohenstrauß parish, Altenstadt branch.

With the formation of the tax districts in 1808, Waldau became a tax district. The Waldau tax district included the villages of Erpetshof, Trasgschieß, Waldau and Zeßmannsrieth and the desert cover works, Iltismühle, Neumühle and Zieglmühle.

In 1809 Neumühle belonged to the Waldau lordship. In 1809, the Waldau dominion formed a patrimonial court . Their owners were the Freiherrn von Lilien. It had 130 people behind it and comprised a mixed district with the towns of Altenstadt, Arnmühle, Braunetsrieth, Erpetshof, Iltismühle, Kößlmühle, Matzlesrieth, Neumühle, Obernankau, Trasgschieß, Trauschendorf, Zeßmannsrieth, Zieglmühle and Waldau.

In 1821 Neumühle belonged to the indirect patrimonial rural community of Waldau. The municipality of Waldau included the villages of Waldau with 59 families, Erpetshof with 9 families and Zeßmannsrieth with 13 families, the hamlet of Trasgschieß with 5 families, the desert Arnmühle with one family, Iltismühle with 3 families, Neumühle with 3 families and Zieglmühle with 5 families.

When the municipality of Waldau was incorporated into the municipality of Vohenstrauß on January 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reform, Neumühle became part of Vohenstrauss.
