Zieglmühle is a district of the town of Vohenstrauß in the Upper Palatinate district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab .

Geographical location

The hamlet is located on the west bank of the Luhe , about 6 km northwest of Vohenstrauss and 700 m northeast of Roggenstein . The Pointgraben flows into the Luhe 250 m south.

history

Zieglmühle was originally called Tristelrieth. The ending -rieth indicates that Zieglmühle is one of the German clearing settlements that emerged from the 11th to 13th centuries on the Luhe and its tributaries.

In the 18th century, Zieglmühle with 5 properties belonged to the municipality of Waldau , the district of Vohenstrauß and the parish of Vohenstrauss, Altenstadt branch . With the formation of the tax districts in 1808, Waldau became a tax district. In 1809 Zieglmühle belonged to the Waldau lordship , and in 1821 to the indirect patrimonial rural community of Waldau.

When the municipality of Waldau was incorporated into Vohenstrauß on January 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reform, Zieglmühle became part of Vohenstrauss.
