The remote area of Weißenstein is a district of Vohenstrauß in the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district in Upper Palatinate .

Geographical location

Weißenstein is located on the district road NEW 32 between Vohenstrauß and Pleystein , about 2.7 km northeast of Vohenstrauss and 2.9 km southwest of Pleystein. The Leraubach rises about 470 m northwest of Weißenstein , which is called Sautradlbach in its headwaters here.

history

In 1821 Braunetsrieth with 17 families together with the desert of Weißenstein with 4 families became a direct rural district .

In 1830 the municipality of Braunetsrieth was incorporated into the municipality of Burgtreswitz together with the remote area of ​​Weißenstein. In 1946 Braunetsrieth and Weißenstein were spun off from the Burgtreswitz community and incorporated into Vohenstrauß.
