history

Erpetshof (also: Erkenpoltshof) belonged to the rule of the Waldauer in the 14th century .

The Landgrave Ulrich II. And Johann I acquired the mill in 1352 in Erpetshof.

The Waldsassen monastery had rights to tithes in Erpetshof.

In 1366 Ulrich II and Johann I shared their property. Ulrich II received the Leuchtenberg fortress and all possessions west of the road from Vohenstrauss to Weiden . Johann I received the fortress Pleystein and all possessions east of the road from Vohenstrauss to Weiden. The mill in Erpetshof fell to Johann I and the rule of Pleystein.

In 1483 Erpetshof was named when Ulrich von Waldau handed over part of his possessions to his sons.

In the middle of the 16th century the rule of the Waldauer - and with it also Erpetshof - passed to the Wirsbergers. In 1632 it came into the possession of the Lords of Enkefort. From the end of the 17th century to the beginning of the 19th century, the Barons von Rumel held the fiefdom.

In the 18th century, Erpetshof with 8 properties and a shepherd's house belonged to the municipality of Waldau, district of Vohenstrauß. It also had a mill that belonged to the manor and the Leuchtenberg lower court. Erpetshof belonged to the Vohenstrauss parish, Altenstadt branch.

With the formation of the tax districts in 1808, Waldau became a tax district. The Waldau tax district included the villages of Erpetshof, Trasgschieß, Waldau and Zeßmannsrieth and the desert cover works, Iltismühle, Neumühle and Zieglmühle.

In 1809 Erpetshof belonged to the Waldau lordship. In 1809, the Waldau dominion formed a patrimonial court . Their owners were the Freiherrn von Lilien. It had 130 people behind it and comprised a mixed district with the towns of Altenstadt, Arnmühle, Braunetsrieth, Erpetshof, Iltismühle, Kößlmühle, Matzlesrieth, Neumühle, Obernankau, Trasgschieß, Trauschendorf, Zeßmannsrieth, Zieglmühle and Waldau.

In 1821 Erpetshof belonged to the indirect patrimonial rural community of Waldau. The municipality of Waldau included the villages of Waldau with 59 families, Erpetshof with 9 families and Zeßmannsrieth with 13 families, the hamlet of Trasgschieß with 5 families, the desert Arnmühle with one family, Iltismühle with 3 families, Neumühle with 3 families and Zieglmühle with 5 families.

When the municipality of Waldau was incorporated into the municipality of Vohenstrauß on January 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reform, Erpetshof became part of Vohenstrauß.

Village chapel

The place has a village chapel with a baroque altar and baroque side figures. The first chapel should have been built in 1794, as the bell in the open roof turret bear this year. In 1875 the dilapidated chapel was restored by master miller Johann Gieler. After joining Vohenstrauss, the city also took responsibility for the chapel and had it restored in 1983/84. A new roof turret was also created. The old altarpiece from 1800 with the coronation of Mary was replaced by a work by the painter Alfred Kummer (copy of the Madonna of Foligno by Raffael ) from Vohenstrauss, the earlier altarpiece was brought to the Vohenstrauss local history museum.
