Obersaal was a village in the municipality of Windeck in the Rhein-Sieg district . Today it forms the western part of Saal .

location

Upper room lies on the Leuscheid . Neighboring towns are next to Lower Hall Leuscheid the southwest and Locksiefen in the northeast.

history

The village belonged to the parish of Leuscheid and at times to the mayor's office of Herchen .

In 1830 the hall had 132 residents.

In 1845 the hamlet Obersaal had 85 inhabitants in 14 houses, eight Catholics and 77 Lutherans. In 1888, Niedersaal had 95 residents in 21 houses.

In the upper room, there were then 29 households: Ackerer Wilhelm Ackermann, factory workers Karl Engel, Ackerer Wilhelm Eschmann, Ackerin widow Gerhard Fuhr, Ackerer Julius Fuhr, Ackerer Karl Fuchs, Schuster Franz Karl Geilhausen, day laborers Gerhard Geilhausen, field assistant Karl Geilhausen, Ackerer Christian Henrichs, Plowman Wilhelm Henrichs, baker and landlord Friedrich Himmeröder, plowman Heinrich Himmeröder, miner Karl Himmeröder, plowman Heinrich Klein, plowman Peter Krämer, the unemployed Emilie Merten, plowman Heinrich Merten, widow plowman Peter Merten, plowman Wilhelm Merten, plowman Wilhelm Sohlbach, plowman Friedrich Wilhelm Schmidt, carpenter Wilhelm Schmidt, the farm workers Karl and Wilhelm Schumacher, the farm workers Friedrich Karl and Karl Wilhelm Steinhauer and bricklayers Heinrich Weyand.

149 people lived here in 1962 and 200 people in 1976.
