Oostzaan ( listen ^{? / I} ) is a village and a municipality in the Dutch province of North Holland , between Amsterdam and Zaandam . The community has 9,758 inhabitants (as of January 31, 2019) with an area of ​​16.08 km², of which 4.55 km² is water. This corresponds to a population density of 604 inhabitants per km².

The municipality of Oostzaan includes the village of Oostzaan and the hamlets of Achterdichting, De Haal, De Heul and Noordeinde.

The composer Jan van Dijk was born in Oostzaan in 1918 .
