Gooise Meren is a municipality in the province of North Holland , the Netherlands , north of Hilversum . It was created on January 1, 2016 through the merger of Bussum , Muiden and Naarden and has 57,802 inhabitants.
geography
The community is located on the southern bank of the Markermeer and the Gooimeer . Large parts of the municipality are below sea level. The highest natural elevation is the Eukenberg at 14.3 meters in the very east of the municipality.

Rijksweg 1 runs through the municipality from Amsterdam to the German border near Bad Bentheim with several exits in the municipality. Rijksweg 6 branches off here in the direction of Heerenveen .
In the Bussum district there are two stations on the Amsterdam – Zutphen railway line, Naarden-Bussum and Bussum Zuid.
