Pyszki ( German  Nordenhof ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in the Gmina Srokowo (rural municipality Drengfurth ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

Pyszki is located in the northern center of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship, 17 kilometers northeast of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German  Rastenburg ).

history

The small Gutsort, initially called Abbau Meyer , was founded on August 29, 1884 and was named "Nordenhof". As such, it was a place of residence within the municipality of Drengfurth ( Polish: Srokowo ) in the East Prussian district of Rastenburg until 1945 .

With all of southern East Prussia, Nordenhof came to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war and was given the Polish form of the name “Pyszki”. As such he is today "część wsi Leśny Rów" ( German  "part of the village Leśny Rów" ) (Ivenhof) within the rural community Srokowo (Drengfurth) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia Voivodeship -Masures associated.

Until 1945, Nordenhof was parish in the Protestant parish church of Drengfurth in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union as well as in the Catholic Church of St. Katharina in Rastenburg with the branch chapel Drengfurth in the then diocese of Warmia .

Today, on the Catholic side, Pyszki belongs to the parish of Srokowo in the current Archdiocese of Warmia , as well as to the Evangelical Church of Srokowo , a branch church of the Johanneskirche Kętrzyn in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

Pyszki is located east of Voivodeship Road 650 and can be reached from Lesieniec (Waldenthal) . From Rybakowo (Schönthal A and B) there is also a side road leading to the town.

Pyszki has no connection to rail traffic . Until 1945 Drengfurth was the next train station as the end point of the railway line coming from Rastenburg , which was operated by the Rastenburger Kleinbahnen , but was not reactivated after 1945.
