Râşca or Rîşca [ ˈrɨʃca ] ( German Rissdorf , Hungarian Roska ) is a municipality in the Cluj County , in Transylvania , Romania .
The place Rîşca is also known by the Hungarian names Középroska and Roskatelep .
Geographical location
The municipality of Râşca is located in the northeastern foothills of the Gilăuer Mountains (Munții Gilăului) , a mountain range of the Apuseni Mountains (Munții Apuseni) in the north of the Motzenland . The place Râșca is located on the stream of the same name - a tributary of the Someșul Cald (Warm Somesch) - and the district road (Drum județean) DJ 103K about 25 kilometers south of the small town of Huedin and about 44 kilometers west of the district capital Cluj-Napoca (Klausenburg) .
history
The place Râşca was first mentioned in 1786. In the 18th century Rîşca de Jos belonged to Mănăşturu , Rîşca de Mijloc and Rîşca de Sus to Mănăstireni . These scattered settlements became a village in 1930.
In the Kingdom of Hungary , today's municipality was located in the Bánffyhunyad chair district in the Klausenburg County (Hungarian Kolozs ). Subsequently, the municipality belonged to the historical Cluj District and from 1950 to the present Cluj District.

Only Romanians have been registered in the area of today's Râşca municipality since 1850 . In 1850 there were 155 in what is now Lăpuşteşti (in Hungarian Felsőszamos ) and it was not until 1930 that the residents of today's community center were also registered (1625). The number of inhabitants rose steadily, so that in 1977 the highest number of inhabitants was registered with 2664. Magyars were also recorded in almost every census , the highest number (four) being in 1956.
The main occupations of the population are agriculture (mainly potato growing) and livestock.

- The community center is the starting point for the gorge of Someșul Cald and the nearby Tarnița ( ⊙ ) and Beliș-Fântânele ( ⊙ ) reservoirs .
