history

The place Țaga was first mentioned in a document (according to different information) in 1260 or 1291. Some places in the municipality of Țaga were devastated at the time of the Tatar invasion of 1241.

Archaeological finds on the western shore of Lake Hodoș or Țaga Mare ( Hodóstó in Hungarian ) and at Valea Tistașului on the area of the community center, as well as on the area called Fundătura by the locals, indicate a settlement in the area of the municipality up to the Neolithic Age , of the incorporated village Sântejude (Hungarian Vasasszentegyed ). In the Kingdom of Hungary , today's municipality was in the Kékes chair district (today Chiochiș ) in the Szolnok-Doboka County . Subsequently, the municipality belonged to the historical Someș County and from 1950 to today's Cluj County.

The former village of Ghiolț (German Götz , Hungarian Göes ), first mentioned in a document in 1326, was united with it because of its closer location to today's community center.
