German Chess League 1996/97

The 1996/97 season was the 17th season of the German Chess League . The champion was SG 1868-Alekhine Solingen , which won all 15 games of the season. The SCA St. Ingbert , the SV Erfurt West , the USC Magdeburg and the Eppingen chess club were newly promoted . Magdeburg and Eppingen were relegated again, the other relegated were PSV / BSV Wuppertal and Delmenhorster SK .
