On the Göttelborner Höhe , north of Saarbrücken in the district of Heusweiler - Wahlschied , the television and VHF basic network transmitters of the Saarland radio are located .
It is a 208 meter high guyed tubular steel mast, which is at a height of 440 m above sea level. NN stands. The transmitter mast was commissioned on October 15, 1959.
Location
The Göttelborner Höhe transmitter is located about 15 kilometers north of Saarbrücken, not far from the Saarbrücken motorway junction .
Range
Most of the Göttelborner Höhe radio programs can be received in the entire Saar-Lor-Lux area without any problems . Only a few filling stations help to improve the local reception. Good reception is also possible in large parts of Alsace , Northern Baden , the Northern Vosges and the Black Forest .

Digital television ( DVB-T )
DVB-T started in Saarland on December 13, 2007. Until the switch to DVB-T2 on March 29, 2017, the ZDF multiplex (50 kW), the SR multiplex , both from this location and from the Saarbrücken-Schocksberg transmitter (20 kW) and the private broadcaster multiplex (20 kW), but only the SR multiplex (25 kW) from the new Spiesen station .

DVB-T is broadcast vertically polarized in Saarland ( Schocksberg , Spiesen ). In the case of the transmitters in Rhineland-Palatinate, the horizontal polarization was retained ( Donnersberg , Kaiserslautern , Kettrichhof , Weinbiet ).
