Terrance Victor Harper (born January 27, 1940 in Regina , Saskatchewan ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player who played 1178 games for the Canadiens de Montréal , Los Angeles Kings , Detroit Red Wings , St. Louis during his active career between 1957 and 1981 Blues and Colorado Rockies has played in the National Hockey League on the position of defender . With the Canadiens he won the Stanley Cup five times in the course of his career .
Career
Harper played during his junior years between 1957 and 1960 for the Regina Pats from his native city in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League . The defender also represented them in the 1958 Memorial Cup before moving to the professional field for the 1960/61 season. First, Harper ran in the Eastern Professional Hockey League , where he first went on the ice for a year for the Royaux de Montréal and then the Hull-Ottawa Canadiens .
During the 1962/63 season , the defender was committed by the Canadiens de Montréal from the National Hockey League . Harper remained loyal to these until the end of the 1971/72 season and won the Stanley Cup five times with the Canadiens during this period . He also took part in the NHL All-Star Game twice. In the summer of 1972, Harper was transferred in exchange for a second-round suffrage in the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft , the first-round suffrage in the NHL Amateur Draft 1975 and 1976 and the 1975 third-round suffrage from Montreal to the Los Angeles Kings . There the Canadian acted as team captain after his first year and until he moved to the Detroit Red Wings in June 1975 . He played two other All-Star Games during this time. In the jersey of the Red Wings, where he moved together with Dan Maloney and a second-round suffrage in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft, he also ran as captain. In exchange for the two players and the draft suffrage, Marcel Dionne and Bart Crashley moved to Los Angeles.
After four seasons with the Red Wings, Harper initially retired after the 1978/79 season , but returned to the NHL in March 1980. He signed by the end of the season with the St. Louis Blues , for which he completed a total of 14 games. He then paused for almost a full year before joining the Colorado Rockies for 15 games in February 1981 . In the summer of 1981 he ended his active career at the age of 41.
