The seventh season of the television series The West Wing - In the Center of Power is the final season of the series and first aired between September 2005 and May 2006. In Germany and Austria, the first broadcast started in February 2011 on the pay-TV channel FOX .

The season is almost entirely dominated by the presidential campaign between Democrat Matt Santos and favored Republican Arnold Vinick. On election day, Santos' vice-presidential candidate Leo McGarry dies. Even so, Santos can secure the presidency by a narrow margin. In the weeks leading up to his inauguration, the transition phase, he offers Vinick the important position of foreign minister . The season ends with the inauguration and the simultaneous departure of President Bartlet from the White House. Before that, Josh, Santos' chief of staff, succeeds in getting Sam into the team as his deputy.
