There the place belonged to the Oberamt Mosbach , with which it fell to the Principality of Leiningen in 1803 as part of mediatization due to the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss . When this was dissolved by the Napoleonic Rhine Federation Act, Fahrenbach came to the Grand Duchy of Baden . In 1939 there were 636 inhabitants, at the end of 1945 there were 724.

On January 1, 1975 Robern was incorporated into Fahrenbach. On July 19, 1975, the current community of Fahrenbach was formed by the union of the communities of Fahrenbach and Trienz.

Buildings

St. Jakobus in Fahrenbach
Evangelical Church in Fahrenbach
  • The small Roman castles Robern and Trienz on the Odenwald Limes along with other relics of the Roman past in the Limes area
  • The Catholic Church of St. Jakobus in Fahrenbach is the oldest church in the community. In its place there was probably a church as early as 1200. The base of the tower of the church goes back to a very early construction phase. The nave was enlarged several times, completely renewed in 1790 and expanded again in 1898/99. The church was reformed in the 16th century, but came to the Catholics with the Palatinate church division in 1707. It was a branch church of Lohrbach for a long time before a separate parish was established for Fahrenbach, Robern and Trienz in 1903.
  • The Evangelical Church in Fahrenbach was built in the Weinbrenner style in 1830 , a classical form of classicism especially represented in Baden . The design in red sandstone and a small portico are attractive . Instead of a church tower, a roof turret enlivens the front of the nave .
  • The Catholic Church of St. Pius X in the district of Robern was built in 1956/58.
  • The Catholic Church of St. Maria in the Trienz district was built in 1960.
