Eggendorf is located in the industrial district in Lower Austria. The area of the municipality covers 20.62 km², 14.89% of the area is forested.

history
Before the birth of Christ, the area was part of the Celtic Kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the surroundings of the Celtic hill settlement Burg on the Schwarzenbacher Burgberg .
Later under the Romans, today's Eggendorf was then in the province of Pannonia .

On the western edge of the municipality between Wiener Neustädter Canal and Theresienfeld there is the Tritolwerk ABC and disaster relief exercise area of the Armed Forces .
