Overview of Urbecke (front) and Höcklingsen
As part of the formerly independent municipality of Becke, Urbecke has been part of the city of Hemer since the municipal reorganization on January 1, 1975 . Urbecke is located in the south of the Becke and thus borders on the town center of Hemer.
The Urbecke was first mentioned in a document in the 16th century. Due to the fertile soil, the area was used for agriculture early on. In the 19th century there was an iron stone mine, but a central farm and the surrounding fields still characterize the area.
