As part of the formerly independent municipality of Landhausen, Stübecken has been part of the municipality since the Prussian territorial reforms in 1929, and since 1936 of the town of Hemer in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Stübecken is located in the north of the Hemeraner urban area and thus borders on the neighboring cities of Iserlohn and Menden . Within Hemer, the settlement borders on Mesterscheid and Höcklingsen in the east and southeast, respectively, on Haus Hemer and Hemerhardt in the south and on Landhausen in the west.

In Stübecken there is a municipal elementary school, the Brabeckschule, as well as the municipal outdoor pool “Am Damm”. The soccer stadium of the national division SG Hemer is also located in Stübecken .

The Stübecken settlement community regularly takes part in the competition Our village has a future and has already taken leading places there.
