Hemerhardt , as part of the formerly independent municipality of Niederhemer, has been part of the municipality since it merged with Oberhemer on April 1, 1910, and has been part of the town of Hemer in North Rhine-Westphalia since 1936 .

Hemerhardt is located in the northwest of Hemers on the southern slope of the Bembergs (334 meters above sea level). The settlement borders the neighboring town of Iserlohn in the west, Landhausen and Stübecken in the north, Haus Hemer and Niederhemer in the east and Oberhemer in the south .

Hemerhardt owns the tennis facility of the Weiss-Blau Hemer tennis club , whose senior teams have been German champions several times since the 1990s.
