As part of the formerly independent municipality of Westig, Wiehagen has been part of the municipality since the Prussian territorial reforms in 1929, and has been part of the town of Hemer in North Rhine-Westphalia since 1936 .

Wiehagen borders Iserlohn in the west . Before 1929, some parts of the village belonged to the Hemeraner district of Calle , which was incorporated into Iserlohn at the same time. In the north and east the settlement borders on Westig, in the south on Westigerbach .

The Catholic parish church of St. Petrus Canisius , which was built in the 1930s, is located in Wiehagen . There is also an artificial turf pitch and tennis facility in Wiehagen.
