Administrative division of the Transbaikalia region
The Transbaikalia region in the Siberian Federal District of the Russian Federation is divided into 31 Rajons and 4 urban districts . A total of 45 urban and 345 rural communities are subordinate to the Rajons (status: 2010).
Three of the Rajons ( Aginskoje with the urban district of Aginskoje , Duldurga and Mogoitui, which was later spun off ) formed an independent federation subject until March 1, 2008 , the Autonomous Okrug of the Agin Buryats . These territories still have a special status under this name within the Transbaikalia region (highlighted in gray in the tables).
