Duldurga ( Russian Дульдурга́ ) is a village (selo) in the Transbaikalia region in Russia with 6651 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The place is 150 km as the crow flies south of the regional capital Chita south of the Mogoitui Mountains . It is located at the mouth of the eponymous river Duldurga in the left Onon tributary Ilja , which breaks through the almost 1,300  m high southwest extension of the Borschtschowotschny main ridge .

Duldurga is the administrative center of Duldurginski Rajon , which until March 1, 2008 was one of the three Rajons of the Agin Buryat Autonomous Okrug . Even after the autonomous okrug in the former Chita Oblast with the formation of the Transbaikalia region, these Rajons retained a special status. The village is the seat and only locality of the rural municipality (selskoje posselenije) Duldurga.

The administration of the Alkhanai National Park is located in Durdurga .

history

The village was founded in 1803 by Russian resettlers. With the formation of the Agin Buryat Autonomous Okrug, it became the administrative seat of a Rajon in 1937.

Duldurga is on the A167 trunk road , which branches off the A166 at Darassun (also a station of the Trans-Siberian Railway ) and continues via Akscha to the Mongolian border in the direction of Choibalsan . To the northeast there is a road towards Aginskoye .
