The constituency Vogtland 1 (constituency 1) is a state electoral district in Saxony . It includes the city of Plauen in the Vogtland district . Until the state elections in 2014, the constituency was called Wahlkreis Plauen .

In the 2014 state elections , 51,987 residents were eligible to vote. The voter turnout increased by 27% compared to the previous election to the rate of 61.2%. The CDU candidate Frank Heidan, city councilor in Plauen since 1990 and directly elected member of parliament since 2004, lost his direct mandate to the AfD candidate Frank Schaufel.
