Webster County is a county in the state of West Virginia in the United States . The county seat is Webster Springs .

The county is located in east central West Virginia and covers an area of ​​1,440 square kilometers with no significant water surface. It is bordered in a clockwise direction by the following counties: Lewis County , Upshur County , Randolph County , Pocahontas County , Greenbrier County , Nicholas County, and Braxton Counties .

history

Webster County was formed on January 10, 1860 from parts of Braxton County, Nicholas County and Randolph County. It was named after Daniel Webster , a US politician , US senator and secretary of state .
