The front of 1,785 Derwangen before 1820 Wolla and after 1820 Dirwangen estate village called was in the newly built 1,874 District Loszainen ( Polish Łężany ) incorporated. The county - renamed "District Lossainen" 1936 - was until 1945 part of the circle Rößel in the administrative district of Kaliningrad in the Prussian province of East Prussia . From 1874 to 1878 Dürwangen was assigned to the Loszainen registry office , then to the Legienen registry office (Polish: Leginy ) until 1945 .

Due to the provisions of the Versailles Treaty , the population voted in the referendums in East and West Prussia on July 11, 1920 on whether they would continue to belong to East Prussia (and thus Germany) or join Poland. In Dürwangen, 100 residents voted to remain with East Prussia, Poland did not receive any votes. On September 30, 1928 the manor Dürwangen lost its independence and was incorporated into Loszainen (1936 to 1945 Loßainen , Polish Łężany ).

In war-induced Dürrwangen 1945 came with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Wola". Today the village is the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish Sołectwo ) and thus a place in the network of the urban and rural community Reszel (Rößel) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .
