Xavier Perrot (born February 1, 1932 in Zurich ; † December 8, 2008 there ) was a Swiss automobile racing driver .

Career

Xavier Perrot ran a car workshop in Switzerland and drove car races as a privateer. In the 1969 season he competed in the German Grand Prix at the Nürburgring . Due to the length of the Nordschleife, the field of Formula 1 cars was filled with Formula 2 vehicles. Perrot, who raced his private Brabham BT23C, finished tenth overall and fifth in the Formula 2 class.

In 1971 he drove a March 701 , which belonged to his compatriot Jo Siffert , at the Jochen-Rindt-Memorial-Trophy in Hockenheim and then turned away from the circuit to do hill climbs. He was very successful and was able to win the European Hill Climb Championship in a March 722 Formula 2 racing car in 1972 .
