final
In the 68th Austrian Cup final, the Austrian champions Austria and FC Kärnten faced each other. Despite the high audience demand in the previous games - both semi-finals were sold out and the Mattersburg and Wacker Tirol clubs also set new club audience records in the quarter-finals - Graz proved to be a poorly located final location. Before they met in front of 6,500 visitors, Austria was a big favorite. The Veilchen also took the lead after 15 minutes with a Janočko free-kick into the Kreuzeck. The alleged equalization by Vorderegger (38th) was not recognized because of a foul on team goal Mandl. In the second half, Rushfeldt made the preliminary decision to make it 2-0 (47th) after Helstad presented it from close range. Subsequently, the stake saved the Carinthians both in an attempt by Gilewicz (54th) and Janočko (79th) from a higher defeat. After Rushfeldt missed alone in front of the goalie in the 81st minute, he finally scored the 3-0 final score in the 87th minute. Austria became the cup winners - without conceding a single goal.
