The Am Stern settlement, which has always been administratively part of Thränitz - colloquially just Stern - together with Thränitz and Collis forms the 3.51 hectare district of Thränitz in the city of Gera in Thuringia with a total of 391 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011).

geography

The star of Gera is located in the south-east south-west of the airfield Gera.

history

The Am Stern settlement dates back to four brick factories around which the workers who work there and their families have settled. The school location responsible was Thränitz.

The distilleries are closed today, there is a smaller industrial area, and from the nineties onwards, thanks to the scenic location, numerous new single-family houses have been built.

The stately, old restaurant formerly located in the village has been closed for years; it is left to decay.

politics

Thränitz with Am Stern and Collis have been incorporated into the city of Gera since July 1, 1994. Since then, the three places have formed the Thränitz district of the city of Gera with its own local constitution and local council (until II / 2009 local council) . The district mayor has been Dieter Karius (non-party) since 1994.
