The 1968/69 season was the third season of the Basketball Bundesliga . The top division in German men's club basketball, until 1990 limited to the area of West Germany without the GDR , was played in two regional groups, North and South, and determined the four participants in the final round of the German Championship.
Relegated from the previous season from the top division were TV Grafenberg in Düsseldorf in the north group and TSV Schwaben Augsburg and TSV 1860 Munich in the south group.
