Postage stamps from 2014 of the Federal Republic of Germany

The 2014 stamps issued by the Federal Republic of Germany were presented on November 6, 2012 by the responsible Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) . The year should include 52 stamps from the areas of “State and Society”, “Art and Culture”, “Science and Technology”, “Nature and Environment”, “Sport” and “Volunteering” and provide information about people and events that people move to this day.

After just one year, Deutsche Post AG, as a licensee, again applied to the Federal Network Agency to raise the postage for standard letters from EUR 0.58 to EUR 0.60. This application was approved in December 2013, so that the postage from January 2014 was 60 euro cents for a standard letter. In October 2014 it was announced that the standard postage would increase by a further two cents to EUR 0.62 from 2015. [obsolete] Postage for standard letters and postcards abroad is also expected to rise. Only the compact letter up to 50 grams will be five cents cheaper and will cost 0.85 euros from 2015.

After the German soccer team  had won the final against Argentina on Sunday, July 13th, 2014 and thus became soccer world champion, the Ministry of Finance announced on Monday that there would be a special stamp on Thursday, July 17th.
